Genesis Fertility Clinic

This state-of-the-art establishment measuring 580 square meters of beneficial space is situated on the top floor (4th) of a modern newly constructed building in Limassol, Cyprus.

It incorporates amongst others a concealed positively pressurised sterile area designed in the context of a sterilisation room, a scrub room, a large egg collection suite, a second theatre hosting embryo replacements and a specifically designed embryology laboratory connected to the two theatres via specially designed airtight windows.

The walls and the compartment separation units within this area are made of medical partition panels which are recommended for IVF purposes by the European Union.

The floor of the sterile area is surgically approved layered by copper antistatic material whereas the roof accommodates HEPA Class B air filtration systems for ultimate sterility.

Clean air circulates continuously ensuring a sterile environment. Medical gases necessary for clinical and laboratory applications as well as for the requirements of the patient recovery rooms are supplied through an electronically operating gas bank system situated remotely to the premises.

At Genesis Clinic are Constantly Higher Than Most Fertility Clinics Worldwide

Three separate laboratories distant to the above area comprise the andrology and the two pre-implantation genetic laboratories. All three have been designed to operate within the same concept of optimal sterility and ergonomy as the rest of the concealed positively pressurised clean rooms.

The first genetic lab accommodates the sequencer (Next Generation Sequencing – NGS) and the laser unit necessary to perform NGS & microarray-CGH (Comparative Genome Hybridisation) respectively whilst the second is used for optimising and subsequently processing a reaction for identifying monogenic (single-gene) disorders using real-time fluorescence PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction).

Genesis is a dedicated fertility institution and the first establishment to have acquired European Union tissue directive clearance in Cyprus, Greece, the Eastern and Central European Union countries. In this regard, Genesis complies with all prerequisites set by the guidelines of the European Union concerning standards of quality and safety for the donation, procurement, testing, processing, preservation, storage and distribution of human tissues and cells. Genesis is licensed to undertake any type of clinical and/or laboratory fertility intervention available in human to date.

The unprecedented construction and mechanical engineering of the unit ensure continuous control of any potential emission of contaminants within the positively pressurised “clean” area. It has been reported that such working environments maximise yields and optimise success rates. In this context, Genesis has installed ULPA (Ultra Low Particulate Air) and H-14 filtration systems in all areas associated with surgical or laboratory interventions.
